Supplier Quality Management Specialist

Job summary

The Supplier Quality Management Specialist oversees supplier performance, ensuring compliance regulatory requirements, and quality and food safety standards. This role conducts supplier audits assessments, evaluating risk, performance, and compliance, and takes action to mitigate risks and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor supplier performance against regulatory requirements, and quality and food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address performance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Plan and execute supplier audits to assess risk, performance, and compliance with quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and work with suppliers to develop mitigation plans.
  • Oversee the maintenance of supplier records, including certifications and audit reports, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.
  • Develop criteria for evaluating potential new suppliers specifically on quality and food safety.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and select suppliers that align with the organization’s goals and quality standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the supply base and develop training or support programs to enhance supplier capabilities.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of suppliers, assessing their adherence to regulatory standards, and quality and food safety requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on supplier performance highlighting issues, risks, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Address any supplier-related issues or concerns in a timely manner, coordinating with internal teams.
  • Continuously monitor supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement, recommending actions to enhance supplier capabilities and compliance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Educational Background: Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, or any related fields.
  • Work Experience:
    • At least two (2) years of experience in supplier quality management, supplier audits, or related roles within the food manufacturing or food supply industry.
    • Proven experience in conducting audits and assessments, particularly in the food industry or related sectors, with focus on quality assurance and food safety.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, including local regulations (e.g., FDA) and international food safety standards (e.g., FSSC 22000).
  • Experience in performing root cause analysis, corrective actions, addressing non-conformities, and implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing environments and associated operational standards.
  • Advanced experience in the Food Manufacturing and Food Safety industry is a strong advantage.
