General Objective of the Job / Position Summary
To develop new products or improve existing products of OFI.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulates fats and oil-based products.
- Prepares prototype samples using the laboratory and pilot plant facilities.
- Conducts stability tests for newly developed products.
- Evaluates alternative raw materials for new and existing products.
- Conducts product applications and sensory evaluation tests.
- Monitors pilot runs and assists in the production scale of newly developed and improved products.
- Performs fats & oils processes needed for product development such as, but not limited to, chemical & enzymatic interesterification, hydrogenation, physical and chemical refining, and texturizing.
- Performs physical and chemical analysis of fats and oils raw materials and products under development, as well as products from customers or competitors, as necessary.
- Prepares costings of developed products and updates costings of standard OFI products, as necessary.
- Maintains records of all product formulations. Updates changes or modifies them if needed.
- Conducts research on alternative materials, processes and technologies, and fats and oils-related product concepts and recommends adoption or further study as necessary.
- Recommends change in formulations to improve product quality or reduce cost, as necessary.
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s/College Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Food Technology
- At least 1-2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. Food Industry exposure and “preferably” with PD/R&D experience
- Willing to work in Bagumbayan, Quezon City
