Job Summary
The Market Development Specialist will be responsible for total territory development of the Foodservice channel via the appointed distributor in the area. He/she shall strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Objectives: Achieve sales objectives for the Foodservice channel.
- Distributor Relationships: Strengthen relationships with distributors and manage their key accounts in the assigned territory.
- Strategic Growth: Negotiate discounts, create strategies to grow SKU assortment, develop sales capability of DSPs, and create RTM strategies to expand customer reach.
- Forecasting & Programs: Create forecasts and suggested Purchase Orders (POs) for product availability, and develop trade and distributor programs to meet sales objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor prices and activities in the assigned territory.
- Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve customer and distributor complaints.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate distributor performance.
- New Product Launch: Develop the market for new product launches.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s/College Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce, Marketing, or any equivalent field.
- Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of Foodservice Distributor development experience.
- Knowledge: Must be well-versed in Foodservice operations.
- Skills: Proficient in MS Excel and able to identify problems and opportunities from data; strong organizational skills; pro-active problem-solving abilities.
