Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive growth in our Foodservice & Bakery segments. This role involves end-to-end sourcing and trading, principal/supplier management, product documentation and testing, providing technical sales support, and conducting market intelligence to identify new opportunities and ensure the company stays ahead of competition.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Sourcing & Trading:
- Identify demand through sales needs, trends, or new products from suppliers.
- Hunt for new suppliers & principals.
- Coordinate testing and sampling.
- Monitor shipments from source to warehouse.
- Work closely with Supply Chain on purchase requests, forecasts, and inventory.
- Principals / Supplier Management:
- Accredit suppliers and products (internal and with government bodies).
- Build and maintain exclusivity with principals.
- Monitor and assure continuity of projects.
- Documentation, Testing & Development:
- Create, maintain, and update the traded database.
- Review technical documents from principals.
- Conduct in-house testing and qualification for new products (with Product Design/R&D).
- Create evidence-based materials, presentations, and technical sheets.
- Technical Sales Support:
- Work closely with the sales team to introduce new products to industrial and bakery clients.
- Serve as the point person for client R&D and Product Development teams’ queries and technical support.
- Conduct research and testing to fit products with client needs (modifications, tweaking, re-classification).
- Market Intelligence & Study
- Assist the Business Development Manager in monitoring innovation funnel projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies (Market & Industry Analysis, Product & Technology Analysis, Legal & Regulatory Check).
- Regularly research trends, new product launches, and new technology.
- Analyze data and trends to maintain competitive advantage.
