General Objective of the Job
Packaging Specialist is responsible for execution of all assigned packaging activities relating to packaging compliance, development and operational applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily packaging sample evaluation according to the set testing plan in line with packaging development and/or operational improvement.
- A minimum of three sample evaluations conducted in a day and update the sample monitoring database daily.
- Coordinate with product specialists and collate data of shelf life study involving new and existing packaging materials
- Ensure new packaging material specification is updated daily in the database.
- Coordinate daily with QA Receiving, Packaging Buyer, and Documentation Team on new, updated, and obsolete packaging specifications.
- Correlate data from sample evaluation and supplier’s specification and draft it in the specification template for review by the Packaging Supervisor.
- Monitor the status of samples and quotations request database daily and coordinate closely with the Packaging Supervisor
- Coordinate with Packaging Sp on the planned line trial applications weekly. Update line trial schedule database weekly.
- Coordinate line trial requirements with concerned departments before, during, and after a trial.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Engineering courses such Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical; Packaging Engineering graduate would be an advantage
- Preferably with background or work experience in a packaging-related position
- Knowledge and understanding of packaging standards such as ISO, ASTM, etc.
- Knowledge in drafting of specification standards
- Proficiency in CAD and other packaging design-related software an advantage
