Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to ensure a safe and compliant workplace by coordinating health and safety programs, enforcing regulations, and maintaining efficient accident/incident record systems. This role involves active participation in monitoring and implementing HSE policies, conducting training, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards within our manufacturing operations.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as co-secretary to the Health and Safety Committee.
- Act on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the employer and workers.
- Coordinate all health and safety training programs for employees and employer.
- Enforce personnel, safety, and area rules and regulations, conducting employee awareness or orientation related to Health Safety.
- Maintain an efficient accident/incident record system and coordinate actions to eliminate accident causes.
- Update and submit safety work plans; increase Occupational Health and Safety awareness.
- Respond to employee safety concerns and address them appropriately.
- Receive reports from and respond to orders issued by Department of Labor inspectors.
- Coordinate/facilitate training of personnel in areas of safety (first aid, CPR, accident prevention/investigation, workplace inspection).
- Provide assistance to government agencies in safety and health inspections or accident investigations.
- Monitor and implement company policy on HSE-related activities.
- Prepare reports on safety programs for the corporate safety committee and DOLE-BWC.
- Arrange for occupational health and safety testing and evaluation of the workplace by external agencies.
- Report activities pertaining to pollution source/control facilities installation & construction to ensure compliance with standards.
- Report breakdowns of pollution control facilities and estimated/actual completion dates.
- Promptly submit periodic reports as required by the department.
- Maintain liaison with city/provincial/municipal or local pollution control officers.
- Attend meetings for Safety Officers called by National/Local Government.
- Create guidelines, working standards, operational procedures, and other HSE-related documents.
- Participate in safety programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Participate in compliance obligation and customer requirements documentation and auditing (ISO Standards IMS, FSSC, GMP, SMETA, etc.).
- Handle other Environmental and Safety concerns as required by the employer.
What We’re Looking For
- Educational Background: Graduate of any 4-year course or engineering graduate.
- Work Experience:
- At least two (2) years of working experience as a Safety Officer in the Manufacturing industry.
- Basic knowledge of environmental laws, or working experience as a Pollution Control Officer (PCO) in a food manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Accreditation: With Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) accreditation.

- Attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety and environment regulations and best practices.
- Experienced and Knowledgeable in Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Knowledgeable on food-related documentation and standards.
