Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Production Section Manager, the Process Engineer controls and monitors production processes, supervises the activities of the production staff (Foreman, Process Operator/Technician, workers), and ensures they perform their work efficiently. This includes implementing the correct usage of raw materials, utilities, production supplies, and man-hours spent, along with the strict enforcement of safety rules and regulations.
II. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Production Monitoring: Checks equipment status and monitors production processes to ensure procedures and instructions are strictly followed. Reports any abnormalities to the Production Section Manager.
- Supervision & Efficiency: Supervises production work to ensure efficient completion of scheduled production and that subordinates perform their work safely and efficiently.
- Turnover Report: Performs a turnover report of the entire production to shift relievers for coordination and continuity of work.
- Inventory & Supplies: Checks and requests materials and supplies necessary for production process activities.
- Safety & PPE: Ensures strict enforcement of safety rules and regulations in the workplace, and continuously monitors the use, control, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspects equipment and accessories, and coordinates with utilities and maintenance for repair requests to ensure the process is carried out under controlled conditions.
- Training & Orientation: Conducts orientation for new workers on the plant safety programs, rules, regulations, and documented procedures.
- Shutdown Activities: Assists Engineering and Maintenance crew during assigned activities and supervises shutdown activities in their work area.
- Documentation: Prepares documented work instructions that conform to the Integrated Management System.
- Non-Conformity: Investigates and prepares reports for any non-conformity in production and formulates corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Other Duties: Performs other work-related functions as assigned by superiors.
III. Minimum Required Qualifications (from Personnel Request Form)
- Educational Background: Engineering Degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical/ECE, Materials, Metallurgical, Sanitation) (MIN.)
- Work Experience: None (MIN.)
- Skills & Qualifications:
- High mechanical/mathematical aptitude.
- Strong mental ability (IQ Score > 100 on standard D&L Pre-application exam).
- Physically fit (Can climb 20-foot high ladder to inspect storage tanks, Can walk up and down 4 floors several times in the shift).
