Job Description
As a Lead QA Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, running and maintaining manual and automation test suites to ensure the quality of our software applications. You will be part of our DevOps team that is responsible for validating that our software meets internal and external standards, in order to provide the best quality applications for our customers.
To succeed in this role, you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users. This position will play a primary role planning, implementing, leading and executing all aspects of Quality and Testing. The role requires hands-on QA expertise, ability to take initiative and develop and evolve our QA processes. The right candidate will be able to analyze the systems to determine what to test, the priority of those tests and the best way to test.
The ideal candidate is both technically savvy and able to collaborate well with the team through his/her exceptional communication skills, who gravitates towards issue ownership and accountability. With some Project Management or Scrum Master experience to be able to work efficiently within the stakeholders and development teams utilizing Agile Scrum framework.
Responsibilities
- Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
- Serving as a liaison between the cross-disciplinary team (development, quality assurance, support, management), in a multi-company environment.
- Build and refine test strateg
- Develop and execute test plans for both web and mobile, working in Agile environment
- Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated) assuring continuous testing process.
- Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution.
- Integrate test case execution with the CI/CD pipeline to better align with the DevOps strategy.
- Influence the team to design and build for testabilit
- Contribute to acceptance criteria, requirements and user stories.
- Respond to all requests from team members in a timely manner.
- Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.
- Partner with engineering teams to stay informed of new technologies being introduced and to ensure that system components are designed for testability.
- The candidate should be self-sufficient and be able to operate at a variety of levels in organization.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience testing software for both web and mobile
- Bachelor’s degree or experience in a technology related area (Computer Science, Engineer, etc.) is required
- Must have a solid knowledge with entire software development life cycle and test cycles (Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Stress & Scale, Smoke & Sanity)
- 5+ years of experience in translating requirements or user stories to test cases and creating a robust test suite.
- 5+ years of experience in Visual or UI testing
- 5+ years of experience working in Scrum-based Agile teams
- 5+ years of experience testing APIs Soap
- 3+ years of experience testing event driven microservices, message queues & event brokers.
- Programming skills (i.e. C#, Java, JS, SQL, etc.) preferred but not required.
- Experience working with automation tools Selenium or RestAPI is highly desired.
- Experience in creating requirements documents and specification
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Must be deeply familiar with Agile/Scrum.
- Experience working closely with a development team and interacting with multiple stakeholders across multiple business units.
- Must be able to work in a complex, dynamic team environment with minimal supervision and possess good organizational skills
- Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found
- Highly organized, detail oriented, extremely responsive and able to prioritize a large number of tasks
- Self-motivated, works well independently and with others
- Willing for 5-days compressed work
- Amenable to work and report onsite in Calle Industria, Bagumbayan, Quezon City
