Job Summary
The Billing Assistant supports timely and accurate billing for contestable customers under RCOA. The role prepares invoices, validates meter and market data, assists collections, and handles billing inquiries for a retail electricity supplier.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue monthly customer invoices (energy charges, market pass-throughs, taxes, and adjustments) by the agreed cut-off.
- Validate metering data (KWh/W) against internal records and market statements (e.g., EMOP/WESM) and investigate variances.
- Reconcile billing vs. WESM/NGCP/DU statements and internal schedules; document adjustments and credits.
- Maintain accurate customer billing profiles, rates, contract terms, and tax arrangements (e.g., VAT, EWT/2307).
- Coordinate with Sales/Trading/Operations on pricing, contract changes, and disputes; respond to customer billing queries.
- Prepare regular billing reports.
- Record payments, match official receipts, and help follow up outstanding accounts in line with collection policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in the WESM and/or electric power industry is a plus, open for fresh graduates.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; customer-service mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
