Job summary:
Microbiological sampling, testing and evaluation.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare dilution blanks, culture media, sterilized micro-testing apparatus, and other related needs for the microbiological laboratory.
- Accurately perform prescribed microbial tests for DLPF raw materials, semi-finished bulk samples, process and drinking water, in-process materials, food contact surfaces, and finished products requiring microbiological control and monitoring.
- Monitor environmental qualification of different production areas and conduct sanitation checks on equipment and personnel to validate conformance to hygiene requirements and SSOP implementation.
- Conduct sampling and microbial water testing for DLPF drinking water stations.
- Conduct and monitor swab tests of storage tanks and delivery tankers to confirm cleanliness and suitability for use, as necessary.
- Report microbiological non-conformance results, determine causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure that hygiene requirements and good housekeeping of the microbiology laboratory are maintained regularly.
- Conduct and ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of apparatus, equipment, glassware, and related tools for safe and efficient operation in the microbiology laboratory.
- Endorse disposition on Microbiological Issues to QA Chemists, QA Analysts, and QA Food Technologists, ensuring it is communicated to concerned sections/departments.
- Authorized to stop operations of processing lines in cases of obvious microbiological violations and Food Safety issues.
- Maintain neat and legible analysis records, following rules on correcting errors.
- Authorized to evaluate, re-test, and put on “HOLD” materials and products with microbiological contamination, and recommend disposition.
- Conduct ocular inspections in production lines, ensuring conditions conform to GMP and hygiene standards (tanks, water sources, processing lines, checking hygienic conditions, cleanliness).
- Conduct microbiological testing of special samples and report test results to the QAD Manager.
- Assist in updating or revising microbiology testing and sampling procedures and instructions as needed.
- Provide assistance to production lines in troubleshooting product quality deviations caused by unsanitary conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Correctly record sample identification, disposition, and test results of microbiological samples.
- Responsible for the correct lifting of swab and microbiological samples as prescribed by the standard sampling technique.
- Input or encode analysis results into statistical process records.
- Endorse GMP issues / Internal Deviation Reports to your superior.
- Participate in FEPAS Proficiency Test.
- Responsible for laboratory supplies and consumables inventory/monitoring.
What We’re Looking For:
- Educational Background: Graduate of Microbiology, Food Technology, or any related courses.
- Academic Standing: With good scholastic standing.
- Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a related field (microbiology laboratory, food manufacturing QA).
- Job Skills:
- With knowledge in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- With a background in HACCP and Internal Audit.
- Capable of training team members.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications.
